3-year-old accuses neighbour of rape
A 3-year-old has accused a neighbour of raping her and washing her pants afterwards to get rid of her blood stains.
A three-year-old has accused a 25-year-old neighbour of raping her.
The unnamed child reported to her parents that the neighbour named Hamzat Afeez raped her and washed her pants to get rid of blood stains that came out of her private parts.
Speaking with Punch, the alleged suspect said that she followed Hamzat Afeez, who is a painter, inside his room when he took her younger sister. In the room, the alleged suspect said that AZ removed her pants and had canal knowledge of her.
“Then blood came out on the bed. He now washed my pants. He now said he wanted to go and bath. I went out and told my mummy. When my daddy came back, I also told my daddy,” the 3-year-old told Punch.
The victim’s father, Mr. Okechukwu also told Punch that his worry was how the memory of the incident would hunt his daughter in the future and that his daughter’s health had deteriorated.
“My wife told me that She said she was washing some clothes when AZ came out and asked to carry Ngozi, her baby, to relieve her of the stress. Chinansa is fond of her sister and she always followed her wherever she went. So, she followed AZ inside his room. It was when she came out that she told her mother that “AZ did rubbish to me." She told me the same story,” the alleged victim’s father told Punch.
Mr Okechukwu reported the matter at the Gowon Estate Police Station the next day and the suspect was arrested.
The suspect has however denied the allegations, telling Punchthat he had been framed up.
“Look, I did not do anything with the girl. Everything that happened still looks like a dream to me. I don’t want anything that will put me in trouble and my neighbours can attest to it. Only God knows best; I have handed them over to God,” the suspected said.
The suspect has been released on bail and mad to sign an undertaking that he must pay the sum of N100,000 to the father of the alleged victim for her treatment.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer,Kenneth Nwose, has also confirmed the incident, revealing that the matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department any moment from now.
He also revealed that the suspect was bailed because he took ill and was allowed to treat himself. “The father of the girl also travelled. Whenever he returns, the case will be taken to the SCID. The right thing will be done, the girl has gone through all the necessary medical tests,” Kenneth Nwosu told Punch.
